The 23rd American Graffiti Festival & Car Show celebrates Modesto's cruising legacy and its fame as the hometown of filmmaker George Lucas. This charity event, sponsored by the North Modesto Kiwanis Club, raises money for local non-profits serving children and youth. The weekend opens with a Friday night classic car parade, followed by a two-day car show and music festival featuring cars 1979 and earlier. On Sunday, modern muscle and exotic cars share the spotlight as the Modesto Cars & Coffee group joins the fun. Online car registration opens March 15 on the website. Spectator admission is $10 at the gate; children 12 and under free.
